What happened
Derek Mobley says Workday's AI tools, which many employers use to sort job applications, unfairly rejected him and other older applicants. In May 2025 the court allowed applicants aged 40 and over who were turned down through Workday's platform since September 2020 to join the claim as a group. In 2026 the court kept most of the claims alive, including some under California law; there has been no finding that Workday broke the law.
